Craps Smart Betting TipsA lot of players have their first impression of craps as a rather confusing game. At first glance, the table layout with all the many craps bets may sometimes become discouraging. It may take some time to get used to the many different bets you see in a game of craps. Since there are so many games to choose from, we'll help you pick out the good craps bets from the bad craps bets. The following are a few craps betting tips you can build on. Tip #1 - never make any of the proposition bets. Our first tip concerns certain bets that you shouldn't make. There are two types of proposition bets in a game of craps - Hardways and One roll bets. Hardways bets include rolling the doubles, as the name suggests the one roll bets are decided on a single roll of the dice. The reason behind the prohibition on craps proposition bets is that these will usually have really high house advantages. A lot of these bets have an 11.1% house edge with 16.67% house advantage as the worst among them. Tip #2 - never make any of the craps lay bets. This next tip is a restriction on craps lay bets. Lay bets have a commission of five percent on them making this craps wager quite unfavorable. But if you really want to try it out then be sure to make your lay bet using chips in exact denominations. Tip #3 - make less buy bets. Like the craps lay bets, buy bets also have a five percent commission on them. But the buy bets will have better odds than the lay bets. These bets can even have a smaller house advantage compared to place bets. Though these may sound good we say it advisedly to make fewer buy bets as possible. If ever you do want to try making buy bets then we would recommend that you make buy bets on four and ten since they have the highest odds among the buy bets in craps. Tip #4 - make less field bets. The house edge is indeed lower for the field bets in craps at 5.5%. What makes this bet something you should avoid is the fact that its fate is determined on a single dice roll. Tip #5 - when you make craps place bets use multiple denominations. The idea behind this tip is taking the maximum pay out odds for each place bet. Tip #6 - always make free odds wagers. If given the chance, you should make free odds wagers. The good thing about these craps odds is that they pay at true odds. Players can build on these craps betting tips. You can make the most of a craps session by betting smart every time. |
